Rachel has been involved with teaching our two children Piano for over 6 years now. She quickly establishes a great rapport with the children – and has a rare knack of being able to simultaneously motivate them, set meaningful goals, and optimise their development. This balance is what I believe makes the difference between the children maintaining their own interest in Piano playing vs being pressured by the parent (me!) to continue. I have memories of a small number of teachers at school, in various subjects, who had great teaching skills. Rachel has that talent.

Parent since 2003, and student since 2008

Rachel Montalbano taught piano to my daughter Sindoora for almost seven years. Sindoora has successfully completed her grade 5 practical exam (AMEB) in Piano for Leisure and the Musicianship grade 2 theory exam this year. Rachel has been a patient teacher and always emphasised the importance of regular practice to my daughter. She explains the details of every piece she teaches very thoroughly and keeps the student interested at all times. Rachel's calm and disciplined approach to teaching clicked well with my daughter and she had a good student-teacher relationship with her.

I have no hesitation in recommending Rachel Montalbano as a good teacher to anyone who wishes to learn to play the piano or continue learning at higher grades.
